Overview
A well-established legal firm in Cape Town is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Conveyancing Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3–5 years’ post-admission experience in conveyancing and a proven track record of managing property transactions from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage full property transfer processes, including residential and commercial transactions.
- Draft and review transfer documents, bond registrations, and related legal contracts.
- Handle Deeds Office lodgements and liaise with banks, estate agents, clients, and third parties.
- Conduct title deed verifications and due diligence checks.
- Maintain strong knowledge of current property and conveyancing legislation.
- Provide accurate legal advice to clients regarding property transactions.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- Admitted Attorney and Conveyancer (in good standing with the Legal Practice Council).
- 3–5 years’ post-admission experience in conveyancing.
- Proven experience handling property transfers, bond registrations, and Deeds Office dealings.
- Strong drafting and document review skills.
- Excellent understanding of the conveyancing process and legal compliance.
- Proficiency in conveyancing systems (e.g. GhostConvey, LexisConvey).
